Desk Dojo is interview practice. It is not a crisis service, and no person at Desk Dojo is watching your sessions. This page explains what the App does by itself.

What the App checks

In the AI practice features (mock interviews, case interviews, and spoken or typed practice answers), an automated check reads your latest answer before the AI interviewer or the AI grader sees it. The check is run by OpenAI's safety model. We use only one part of what it returns: signs that you may hurt yourself. We do not act on anything else it reports. The check does not run on lessons or drills.

What happens if it finds something

  • The AI's reply to that answer is never shown to you, and the answer is not graded.
  • The App shows a card with the 988 number and findahelpline.com.
  • That answer is not saved to your history, and the App does not send it again.
  • If that is not what you meant, the card usually lets you answer again in different words: up to twice in a mock or case interview, and up to twice in each single practice answer. After that the card stays up, and the way on is to leave or end the session, which you can always do.
  • Our server keeps a technical log line that the check fired. The log never contains your words. No one at Desk Dojo is alerted, and we do not contact you or anyone else.

What it cannot do

  • It is automated and it makes mistakes in both directions. It can stop an ordinary figure of speech, and it can miss something serious, especially when it is said indirectly.
  • If the check itself is unavailable, practice continues without it.
  • Some answers are sent in two separate requests, and each one is checked by itself. If only one is stopped, the AI may already have read the other. The App throws that result away and shows you the card.
  • It is not an emergency service and it is not medical advice.

Your words and your privacy

To run the check, the text of your answer is sent to OpenAI, the same provider that grades it. How we handle recordings and transcripts is described in our Privacy Policy. Questions: [email protected].
